Thanks for your appreciation. On Triffids, I have probably started to over-use the word (sarcastically and for light humour). It (loosely) refers to "The Day of the Triffids" sci-fi novel by John Wyndham of alien plant invaders. Since we are living in dark dystopian times and these invasive filament micro-'Triffids' (or Somatid thalli) are everywhere amongst us and within us, it does seem creepily apt!

Yes, that video was spooky. They're alive - but are they engineered nanobots or engineered hybrid bacteria? The only thing dead looking were my red blood cells.

Yes, the airborne ribbons are everywhere and a nuisance. They typically seem to come from nylon clothing and home fabrics but in the mix there must be multiple rogue fibres that float in from the environment.

Even after carefully wiping fresh 'clean' microscope slides with an alcohol wipe I'll often find a new rogue fibre (from the alcohol wipe cloth or from the air).

This nano and micro world of discovery is going to be a marathon run that never ends but I'll feel better when the Armies of Truth have got a firm grip of it and created cogent remedial and defence strategies.
